Dear Olive,
I can’t believe you are already one
month old. What a crazy month it has been.
Its hard to imagine what life was like before you were here. You are
such a great baby. You love to be held, especially by your mommy. You are a
pretty good sleeper. You will sleep for 2-3 hours at a time and wake up to
nurse. Sometimes it takes over an hour to get you back to sleep. Most nights you end up in bed next to mom,
but she doesn’t mind that at all. You are a great snuggler.
You unfortunately have been to the
pediatrician more times than I would like. You went the day after we left the
hospital to make sure your jaundice was decreasing. We had to take you in a few
days later for a clogged tear duct that was infected. You little eye was so
swollen. The tear duct is still clogged and you wake up every morning with a
goopy eye but you don’t seem to mind. ( mommy had a clogged tear duct growing
up as well.) .
Then you went in for your 2 week well child check where we found out you were an excellent breast feederYou were already 8 lbs 15 oz! by two weeks of age the hope Is for the baby to be back to birth weight. You sure had passed that. That following Sunday we had to take you back in because you got your first cold at almost 3 weeks old. Your nose was so plugged, and you had a sad little cough, you seemed to handle it much better than we did. Mom did not want to put you down. She was afraid something would happen to you. Plus you had a hard time sleeping if you were lying flat. You are such a luckily girls and also got your first sleepover with TT. She held you all night long so that mom could get some sleep, without worrying. You seem to be on the mend now.

You did do some fun things, you
were able to go to Quinns 5th birthday and play dress up with her.
Cousin Quinn loves you so much. She just wants you to be happy. She loves to
play peek-a- boo with you even though you don’t understand yet. She also likes
to “breastfeed” you when you are sad.
You friend Henry came over to play. He is giant compared to you, but you
will catch up quickly. We had a pizza play date with cousin Emily and Rhett.
You had your first real bath and loved it. You spent lots of time with your
grandparents who love you so much. You worked on your smiles which are getting
better and better every day.
