Birth Story- TiTi's perspective

Dear Olive Mae,
I'm beyond excited that you are here. The family had to make predictions on when you would be born, since your mom was 12 days late, just to bug her, I put your due date down as April 27th, one week past your due date!
Sat April 25th I got a horrible sore throat, i left work early and ran to insta-care to get on antibiotics in case it was strep throat, thankfully it wasn't but I still lost my voice.
Your mom was induced on April 26th and we waited to hear if she went into labor, late in the afternoon Aunt Jessi and I headed up to the hospital to await your arrival! Your Mom, Dad, Jessi, and I stayed up most of the night with a little sleep here and there. All throughout the night they would check your mom and nothing changed, that night we also go word that aunt Monika was across the hall on labor with cousin Rhett!

Every few hours your mother would freshen her make-up and hair and the doctor would come check her, and she still hadn't dilated past a three. Your poor mommy would break down and cry, she wanted to meet you so badly.
We passed the day on Monday by watching tv , eating, laughing and talking!
Soon everyone was talking about a c section, as nothing was changing. My heart broke for your mommy , she was such a trooper, they Oreo your look for surgery and wheeled her to the operating room, your dad got all gowned up and off he went.

I was nervous and so excited waiting for you. About a half hour later your daddy texted pictures of you!!! You were a mini McKay. So so so adorable. Finally you all came back into the room and we got to see you, and hold you! You were so alert, wide eyes and awake!

Olive, you are such a beautiful, happy, sweet baby hat I am honored to call my granddaughter, and I am blessed to live dice minutes away and I get to watch you at least once a week! I can't wait to watch you grow, but not too far!
Love you forever and ever
Titi
